New Snow

New Snow
Alkyd on canvas
24 x 20 in

I painted this the day we woke up to fresh snow. It was a light snow, and it highlighted every rock on this mountainside. It was a cool morning, but as the day progressed the snow at our campsite melted. I began to paint as the snow on the mountain began to melt. I had to work fast to keep ahead of it.
