Lake Peters and Lake Schrader

Lake Peters and Lake Schrader
Alkyd on canvas
24 x 20 in

When we arrived, in early July, the ice on the lakes was just beginning to melt. Three weeks later it was completely gone. I painted it one day when the ice was going fast. A warm wind had blown it all to the north end of the lake. Later the wind shifted and came from the north. It was not warm.
