Near the Wheatear's Nest

Wind Aided On Site Study - Near the Wheatear's Nest - Arctic National Wildlife Refuge
Alkyd on canvas
40 x 18 in

The title of the piece reflects the fact that thirty to forty mph winds buffeted the canvas while I painted for four days. A pair of wheatears flew to and from a nest constructed amidst the rocks on the right.
